“Parrot” curiosities:
- The popularity of parrots and the carelessness of their owners created an opportunity for an uncontrolled growth of the population of these birds in natural conditions. A lot of parrots run away from their owners and, thanks to their adaptability, they do well in the wild. In some areas, they are considered pests.
- One of the longest-lived parrots (Cockatoo) is located in the “Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary” in Tasmania. Her age is estimated at 92 years
- In Australia, an unusual phenomenon occurs every year. Parrots pay too much attention to fermented fruits in October. The result of excessive consumption is drunken birds staggering or, in extreme cases, falling from the tree.
